BinUpright helps stop wheelie bins tipping in strong wind, so rubbish and recycling stays in the bin and out of gutters, drains, gardens, and our beautiful waterways.

Same street. Same wind. Different outcome.

A simple stabiliser can make the difference between bins staying put and rubbish spreading across the neighbourhood.

When bins blow over, everyone pays for it.

Strong wind across the lower North Island and South Island can turn bin day into street litter in minutes. The result is mess, blocked paths and drains, and rubbish heading toward waterways.

Blocked roads & pathways

One gust can tip multiple bins at once, affecting vehicles, pedestrians, disabled people, and parents with prams.

How it works

BinUpright improves base stability to help bins stay upright in conditions where unsecured bins are more likely to tip.

1

Fit to your bin

The stabiliser is mounted at the lower bin area where support matters most.

2

Increase stability

The setup is designed to improve resistance against gust-driven tip events.

3

Keep NZ streets cleaner

Fewer tip-overs can mean less litter spread and fewer blocked kerbside areas.

About BinUpright

BinUpright is a Wellington-based New Zealand company driven by a simple but important purpose: protecting our environment by preventing waste from escaping from fallen wheelie bins.

Our journey began with a simple but frightening question: how much rubbish is being unintentionally released into our environment simply because wheelie bins are blown over?

When a bin falls, its contents can be scattered across our streets, parks and gardens, and can ultimately find their way into drains, streams, rivers and our oceans. We believe this is an avoidable source of pollution, and that preventing it at the source is better than trying to clean it up afterwards.

After more than five years of research and development, BinUpright was created here in the Wellington region by an exceptional team of product developers with experience creating internationally recognised products.

But BinUpright is about more than a product. It is about our passion for protecting the places we call home.

We care deeply about the quality of our urban environments, our waterways and coastlines, and the wildlife that depends on them. Our purpose is to find practical ways to reduce avoidable pollution and contribute to a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable New Zealand.

We are passionate about working with councils, waste-management organisations, environmental agencies and like-minded partners who share that commitment.

Keep the bin upright.
Keep the contents contained.
Keep waste out of our environment.

Because protecting our environment starts with preventing pollution at its source.

Made and tested in Wellington. Built for NZ.

BinUpright is designed, built and tested in the windiest city in the world, our very own famous Wellington region. The product is made for serious windy conditions across the lower North Island and South Island, helping households and neighbourhoods reduce avoidable kerbside waste issues.
